Velvet and cotton, lamps hanging from ribbons, carpet with visible stitching: Bar The Tailor is a cocktail bar in Amsterdam city centre that honours A.W. Krasnapolsky’s original trade, as the hotel’s founder was a tailor. The cocktails are literally made to measure, with house-made infusions, liqueurs and sodas, and part of the menu was created together with the Wynand Fockink distillery, around the corner in the Pijlsteeg. Gault&Millau includes this hotel bar in its selection of cocktail bars. On two Sundays a month a jazz trio plays, and the patio is heated.
