At Bakkerij Westers on the Java-eiland, it smells all day of bread fresh from the oven. The bakery is a tribute to the Bakkerij Westers that has stood on Vlieland since the 1950s; the founder of WestCord Hotels comes from a family of bakers. You have breakfast here, eat a sandwich for lunch or spend an afternoon working at a table with coffee. From its own patisserie come tompouces and a cake of the month, and people from the neighbourhood come in through their own entrance on Tosaristraat.
