Bar Americain is an art deco bar full of stories and nostalgia, with a terrace overlooking Leidseplein. For more than fifty years all sorts of people have pulled up a chair here, from people who live nearby to those seeing the city for the first time. Behind the bar, craft cocktails are made, with lavish bites alongside. It feels like a neighbourhood place, even though it’s on one of the busiest squares in the city.
